WHERE I STARTED WITH THE KLIO™ EXPERIENCE:

When I joined the Labs team, there was already a POC for the board members. But the product experience and user journey had not been build out yet. My first task was to research how other TV's products designed there interface. We looked at products such as Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, Apple TV, Netflix, etc. After the research phase, we came up with a site map for the device setup and then product flow.

The Home Screen

From our research, we knew we need to keep the screens and user interactions as simple as possible since the user would be using either a remote or iOS app to tab around the interface.

Art Forms

We kept each navigation simple using large cards, this allowed the screen to grow as we added new kinds of artwork. I also drew the icons to be simple and would not take away from thumbnail examples. When you highlight a card we would explain each art form.

ART FORMS -> Cinemagraphs

We continued to kept the navigation simple using large cards, this allowed the screen to grow as we added new kinds of artwork. When you are inside of an art form and highlight each artwork we would display the title and who the artwork was by.

ART FORMS -> Cinemagraphs “Tell Me More” Modal

When you highlighted the “Tell me more” in the upper right corner. A modal would pop open to give an overview of the art form you were looking at. You would use the back button on the remote or iOS apps to close the modal.

Artist Artwork

When you choose a piece of artwork to view, we would give a nice large thumbnail to view, about the artist section.

You could do four actions here:

  • Play the artwork

  • View the artist bio

  • Add to favorites

  • Go back to view other artwork.

Artist Bio

Here you learn about the artist and see the full list of their artwork. We kept the template simple with a card layout.
